I was recently checking out the Nordstrom half-yearly sale when I came across these beautiful Miu Miu bow sandals in navy (I could only find a photo of the brown version online). The big bow made my toes look cute and small, and the thick stitching and back zipper kept them from looking too precious. They were originally $475 and were on sale for under $200. I was so excited! Before buying, I looked for the "Made in" mark, just to make sure they were made in Italy. Wrong... in very tiny print near the toe of the shoe they were stamped "Made in China". I sadly put them back on the rack and left. Miu Miu is a Prada company and all items used to be made in Italy...
I realize that most of what I buy is made in China but it is always disappointing when it is a high-priced luxury brand. I have been meaning to do a post on where items are made and as I do more research I will share findings in my new "made in..." section.
Here are a few recent "Made in China" discoveries:
Alexander Wang handbags
Tory Burch handbags and some shoes but her signature Reva Ballet Flat look like they are still "Made in Brazil"
Rebecca Minkoff handbags
Kate Spade handbags
Coach handbags
Juicy Couture handbags and most clothing
